Six mechanisms to copy — a steering wheel that turns 360°, ignition key, indicator lever, toggle switches, buttons and gears. He doesn't want to be distracted, he wants to copy you. No batteries, no sound, no screen. From 1 to 4 years.

  • Delivered assembled: he's playing with it the minute he tears off the paper.
  • The only sounds are mechanical: the click of the indicator wakes nobody.

Meets EN 71-1, -2 and -3 · CE mark · non-toxic

Does it sit on his lap in the car?

30 × 22 × 6 cm for 900 g: it sits flat on the lap and doesn't slide. It's its most common use.

Keep a grown-up in the back with a child under two, and never let it loose in the car.

Recommended age

From 1 to 4 years. Before 18 months, the child turns the wheel and flicks the switches: the movement is enough for him.

Around 3 he invents the trip, commentates and tells stories. That's when he talks the most.

Are there batteries or sound?

No batteries, no electronic sound. The only sounds are mechanical: the click of the indicator, the key turning, the gear.

So it can be used in the evening without winding up a child you were trying to calm down.

Frequently asked questions

My child already has a plastic steering wheel. What does this one change?

The mechanisms. On a sound-making wheel, the child presses and a voice speaks: the response comes from the object.

Here, the key turns, the indicator clicks, one gear drives the other. The response comes from his own movement, and that's what makes him start again.

Will he get bored of it in a week?

A child gets bored of a toy that only does one thing. Here there are six mechanisms, and they don't suit the same age.

At 18 months he turns the wheel. At 3 he invents the trip, announces the turns and tells himself a story — it's a different game with the same object.

Can he use it strapped in his car seat?

It sits flat on the lap, 900 g, and doesn't slide.

Never let it loose in the car: under braking, a 900 g object becomes a projectile. A grown-up in the back with a child under two.

Can the wood split or chip?

Birch plywood and water-based paints: the corners are rounded and the metal parts are recessed, not glued.

If a part comes loose, email us — that's covered.

Can I give it as a gift straight away?

The package leaves in a plain box, with no price or store name on the outside.

We don't yet offer gift wrapping or a handwritten card. If you need either, email us at contact@miloubo.com before ordering.

How can I reach you before ordering?

By email at contact@miloubo.com. We reply within 24 business hours.

If you're torn between two products or two ages, describe your child to us — it's the question we get asked most and the one we most enjoy answering.

Our world

It all started with a tablet held out at the table

Miloubo was born from a family dinner and a tablet held out to a two-year-old. Calm came back in thirty seconds. The guilt came right after.

Ever since, we've been looking for just one thing: something that holds a child's attention for longer than a screen does. Felt, real fastenings to open — and nothing that flashes.

Toys that children ask for, and parents are happy to give.

Read our story

Hands first

A child doesn't learn because we explain it to him. He learns because he tries, gets it wrong and tries again.

No screen, no noise

Calm doesn't come from a toy that talks. None of our busy boards makes an electronic sound.

Made for the trip

Car, plane, restaurant, waiting room. That's where a parent needs it most.

Still useful in three years' time

Velcro at one, laces at four. The same thing, but never the same game.

The relief, in their own words

Over 15,000 parents and children won over — here are seven of their stories.

He had tons of toys and couldn't care less. That was exactly our problem: plenty of toys within reach, and he wasn't playing with any of them. Now he opens, closes, starts again. Twenty minutes by the clock, while I finish my coffee.

The first meal out where we actually finished our plates. What I dreaded most was the looks from the other tables. We brought it out at the appetizer and she stayed on it until the main course. Nobody turned around to look at us, and that is priceless.

I wanted to give something other than a toy with batteries. I was looking for a gift that wouldn't make a noise and wouldn't end up at the bottom of a toy box. My daughter thanked me: it fits in the diaper bag and goes everywhere with them.

He didn't touch the other packages. A gift for his second birthday. He opened it, sat down on the floor with it, and didn't let go all afternoon. The other gifts stayed wrapped.

He gets car sick, a screen was impossible. As soon as he looks at something moving in the car, he's sick. We had no answer for trips. Now his eyes are on his hands, and we did two hours without an emergency stop.

Eight hours on the road, and not a single film. A very long drive with my 3-year-old. I was looking for a way to keep her busy without putting a cartoon on. She lasted the first two hours on it, and she went back to it after every break.

Out at take-off, packed away at landing. Three hours on a plane. No meltdown, no screen, and I didn't have to bargain with her once. The flight attendant asked us where we'd found it.
