Six mechanisms to imitate — a steering wheel that turns 360°, an ignition key, a turn-signal lever, toggle switches, buttons and gears. They don't want to be distracted, they want to imitate you. No batteries, no sound, no screen. Ages 1 to 4.

  • Delivered assembled: they're playing with it the minute they tear the paper.
  • The only sounds are mechanical: the click of the turn signal wakes nobody.

Meets EN 71-1, -2 and -3 · CE mark · non-toxic

Does it sit on their lap in the car?

30 × 22 × 6 cm (11.8 × 8.7 × 2.4 in) at 900 g (1.98 lb): it sits flat on the lap and doesn't slide. That's its most common use.

Keep an adult in the back with a child under two, and never leave it loose in the cabin.

Recommended age

Ages 1 to 4. Before 18 months, kids turn the wheel and flip the switches: the motion is enough for them.

Around age 3 they make up the trip, narrate and tell stories. That's when they talk the most.

Are there batteries or sound?

No batteries, no electronic sound. The only sounds are mechanical: the click of the turn signal, the key turning, the gear.

So it can be used in the evening without winding up a child you were trying to calm.

Frequently asked questions

My child already has a plastic steering wheel. What's different about this one?

The mechanisms. On a sound-making wheel, the child presses and a voice talks: the response comes from the object.

Here, the key turns, the turn signal clicks, the gear drives the other. The response comes from their own move, and that's what makes them do it again.

Will they get tired of it in a week?

A child gets tired of a toy that only does one thing. Here there are six mechanisms, and they're not for the same age.

At 18 months they turn the wheel. At 3 they make up the trip, announce the turns and tell themselves a story — it's a different game with the same object.

Can they use it while buckled in their car seat?

It sits flat on the lap, 900 g (1.98 lb), it doesn't slide.

Never leave it loose in the cabin: in a hard stop, a 900 g object becomes a projectile. An adult in the back with a child under two.

Can the wood crack or chip?

Birch plywood and water-based paints: the corners are rounded and the metal parts are recessed, not glued.

If a piece comes loose, email us — it's covered.

Can I send it directly as a gift?

The package ships in a plain box, with no price or store name on the outside.

We don't offer gift wrapping or a handwritten card yet. If you need one, email us at contact@miloubo.com before ordering.

How can I reach you before ordering?

By email at contact@miloubo.com. We reply within 24 business hours.

If you can't decide between two products or two ages, describe your child to us — it's the question we get the most and the one we most enjoy answering.

Our world

It started with a tablet handed over at the dinner table

Miloubo was born from a family dinner and a tablet handed to a two-year-old. Calm came back in thirty seconds. The guilt came right after.

Ever since, we've been after one thing: something that holds a child's attention longer than a screen. Felt, real fasteners to open — and nothing that blinks.

Toys kids ask for, and parents feel good about.

Read our story

Hands first

Kids don't learn because we explain it to them. They learn because they try, get it wrong, and try again.

No screen, no noise

Calm doesn't come from a toy that talks. None of our busy books make an electronic sound.

Made for the road

Car, plane, restaurant, waiting room. That's where a parent needs it most.

Still in use three years from now

Velcro at one, laces at four. The same book, but never the same game.

The relief, in their own words

15,000+ parents and kids won over — here are seven of their stories.

He had tons of toys and couldn't care less. That was exactly our problem: tons of toys within reach and he didn't play with any of them. Now he opens it, closes it, does it again. Twenty minutes by the clock, while I finish my coffee.

The first restaurant meal where we actually finished our plates. I was mostly dreading the looks from the other tables. We pulled it out with the appetizers and she stayed on it until the main course. Nobody turned around to look at us, and that is priceless.

I wanted to give something other than a battery-operated toy. I was looking for a gift that doesn't make noise and doesn't end up at the bottom of the toy bin. My daughter thanked me: it fits in the diaper bag and goes everywhere with them.

He didn't touch the other packages. A gift for his second birthday. He opened it, sat down on the floor with it, and didn't let go all afternoon. The other presents stayed wrapped.

He gets carsick, so a screen was out of the question. The moment he watches anything moving in the car, he throws up. We had no solution for road trips. Now his eyes are on his hands, and we did two hours without one emergency stop.

Eight hours on the road, and not a single movie. A very long drive with a 3-year-old. I was looking for a way to keep her busy without putting on a cartoon. She stayed with it for the first two hours, and went back to it after every break.

Out at takeoff, packed away at landing. Three hours on a plane. No meltdown, no screen, and I didn't have to negotiate with her even once. The flight attendant asked us where we found it.
